Group projects are vital to our program: without the help of volunteer work, many important improvements and projects would go undone. Frequently, our house residents do not have energy to perform more than one major task per day, and volunteer assistance makes a huge difference! It would also be very expensive for our non-profit agency to pay for all of the house upkeep and other services that volunteers provide. Volunteer group size can range from three to seven people. A Multifaith Works staff person will act as your host and guide for the project, on hand to provide an orientation to the day's work and answer questions. Some examples of possible group projects:
All projects include a 10 minute educational session about Multifaith Works history and HIV/AIDS related issues. The presentations are interactive, giving your group a chance to ask questions. Long Term House Volunteers In addition to group projects, long term Multifaith AIDS Projects and Ariel MS House volunteers can provide ongoing support to residents. These volunteers visit the house and residents regularly, and assist with a variety of tasks, including cleaning, light maintenance, gardening, and sharing meals with residents. Good communication and following through
on commitments are the best ways to develop relationships with the house
residents. Each home has a unique community spirit, and it takes time and
several visits to establish a connection to our residents. Click to learn more about other volunteer opportunities with Multifaith Works.
